About First Coast Esports Alliance
First Coast Esports Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching lives by harnessing the power of esports, gaming, and technology. We provide students with hands-on learning experiences that build creativity, problem-solving skills, and pathways to future careers. Our After-School Programs use platforms like Blocksmith and Roblox, along with other technology tools, to inspire and equip students with real-world game creation skills in a fun, supportive environment.
Position Summary
The After School Club Facilitator will lead and supervise after-school sessions for elementary, middle, and/or high school students. This role involves guiding students through hands-on projects in game design, Roblox game development, and creative technology activities, encouraging collaboration, and fostering a positive learning environment. While technical knowledge is a plus, the ideal candidate is an enthusiastic mentor with a passion for youth development, gaming, and technology education.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate after-school sessions using Blocksmith, Roblox, and other creative tools.
- Lead students through project-based learning activities, from idea development to final game creation.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Encourage teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving.
- Provide one-on-one assistance to students as needed.
- Monitor attendance, maintain program materials, and ensure proper use of equipment.
- Communicate with parents/guardians and program staff about student progress and behavior.
- Support organizational events and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
- Must pass a Level 2 Background Screening before starting.
- Experience working with youth (teaching, mentoring, coaching, or similar).
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Enthusiasm for gaming, game design, or creative technology.
- Ability to manage small groups and maintain a positive environment.
- Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn new platforms.
Preferred:
- Experience with Blocksmith, Roblox Studio, game design, coding, or other creative software.
- Background in education, youth programs, esports, or STEM/STEAM activities.
- Familiarity with classroom or group management strategies.
Schedule & Compensation
- Hours: 6–12 hours per week (typical schedule: weekday afternoons/early evenings)
- Pay Rate: $20 per hour (based on experience)
- Duration: School year with potential for summer program opportunities
